About Miscellany
Many people may wonder what on earth miscellany means. It was Aleks' ideas to include it in our name, as it refers to a medieval manuscript which contains a variety of different texts within a single volume. We felt this reflected what we bring to this blog, as we read vastly different books but are no less passionate about them.

Hi everyone, and welcome to Prairie Miscellany! I have been a voracious reader since the first grade, when my teacher introduced me to the "Magical Tree House" series (anyone else remember those books?). Since then I have challenged myself to always read the synopsis and never judge a book by its cover, leading me to have read anything from thrillers, romance, YA and horror. One thing is for certain - I have a lot of opinions about whatever I read and feel free to disagree with me in the comments!

Hey! I’m Aleks, and I love history and fantasy books. When I’m not reading or watching Dropout, I’m sewing, embroidering, or playing Baldur’s Gate 3. Essentially throw me into the middle of one of those 1000+ epic fantasy novels and I'll be happy. Outside of that, I love speculative and lit fic, and I love connecting those to real life or other media. Gotta stay grounded somehow! Occasionally I'll even dip my toes into thrillers and horrors, especially if magic and ghosts are involved. Body horror will make me vomit though!
We can't wait to interact with you all in our comment section, and hopefully offer some interesting opinions, recommendations and community in our little corner of the internet. We are so glad you're here!
